North Wales Baptist College (Y Coleg Gwyn)

Academic Courses

College courses are split into two types: Theory Courses and Practical Courses.

THEORY COURSES

Courses are divided into different levels:

Certificate Courses:  These are conducted at the college, and are at a basic level. They can comprise introductory courses, practical courses, or 'one-off' courses for a particular application. Some examples are as follows:

Certificate in Lay Ministry

Certificate in Pastoral Studies

Certificate in Church Leadership and Church Management

Certificate in Religious Studies for Sunday School Teachers

Courses are designed specifically for participants, and there is an element of directed reading, formal classes and flexible learning. Course duration will depend on level of study: Introductory, Basic or Advanced.

PRACTICAL COURSES

These are designed to meet particular needs, and can be one-day seminars, or a series of weekly/monthly events linked to specific local requirements. We have previously run a very successful series of Saturday Schools during the autumn and winter period to assist local churches and Sunday schools. We are also willing to conduct training sessions for groups of churches at a location near them. Our staff will respond to local needs if distance is a problem.

DEGREE LEVEL COURSES

These are conducted in association with the School of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Wales Bangor. (See Ordained Ministry tab).
